Found two pairs of Flame Robins and several juveniles hunting in the early morning sunshine. These have been at the same location now for about a week.
Over the past few days several birds have begun to show up in Woodlands. Today is such a cold day with snow on the highlands, I wonder if they won’t show up a bit more quickly now.
The Flame Robins come to visit for the winter at Woodlands. They usually arrive late March/early April, and stay until about the last week of August.
Some use the park as a stop over to other locations, several family groups stay the whole time.
They move through the Grey-box areas of the park, and sometimes are easy to find, other times they can be kilometres away. Here is a selection from past seasons.
